Artist Lillian Pitt’s “Eclipse Over Warm Springs Tribe” Raku Mask
Internationally-known Native American artist Lillian Pitt created miniature masks of her vision of the eclipse 2017 over the Warm Springs Tribe in Oregon. The eclipse was 100% at Warm Springs and the tribe hosted thousands of visitors for a pow wow and arts celebration. Lillian Pitt joined us at Fort Vancouver for the eclipse. The mask has a diameter of 5”. It is individually hand-cast and painted by the artist.
The Warm Springs Reservation is in the news once again in 2019 for poor drinking water and few solutions.
