Friends of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site - Scavenger Hunt Activity!

As children begin a new school year and many students begin learning in different and more virtual ways, the Friends of Fort Vancouver want to offer students and parents an activity that can offer an hour or two of fun and discovery on the grounds of Fort Vancouver. Using the attached PDF, illustrated with watercolors from local author, birder, and artist Pamela Gunn, families can explore the history of this National Historic Site and learn about the many different stories that contribute to the rich tapestry of experiences that make this place so special. This activity is suitable for explorers of all ages and will take a couple of hours to complete (due to the walking distance between landmarks). Many visitors may find that printing a copy of the park map from this link: https://www.nps.gov/fova/planyourvisit/upload/FVNHR-Map-Accessible-PDF.pdf will make their experience even better and will offer younger adventurers the opportunity to brush up on their map reading skills. We hope that this activity shines some light on historical moments oft-overlooked by visitors and brings a greater appreciation for this historical treasure we all share.

Thank You,

- Friends of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site
