On Friday, November 4, 2016 an exhibit opened in the Visitor Center in conjunction with Vancouver's First Friday Downtown. The exhibit, entitled Art and Artifacts: Local Artists Celebrate the National Park Service Centennial opens on November 4, 2016. The event will be held at the Visitor Center at Fort Vancouver, 1501 East Evergreen Boulevard, Vancouver, WA 98661.
The exhibit features original works of art by local artists inspired by the National Park - its landscapes, the museum collection and events. The exhibits will be featured in the Visitor Center Theater; one piece will be installed outside under the entrance canopy.
After the First Friday opening, the exhibit will be available for the public to view in the theater space at the Visitor Center during normal Park hours - Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
On February 4, 2017 from 1:00-3:00pm there will be a talk by the artists.
The exhibit was curated by artist and educator Maureen Montague.
