VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED

VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED
Children's school groups begin to visit our historic site this year in March. Our small staff would like assistance in the Bookstore hosting these chaperoned children's groups. Typically, a volunteer may help sort and bag sales items, answer children's questions within the shop, and assist the cashier as needed with small tasks. The groups are limited to 10 children and two adults at a time, and we like to help them move through the shop quickly and efficiently.
This can be a fun and engaging opportunity to connect with the school tours offered to 17,000 school children and adults who visit here each year. We often hear adults say, "I haven't been here since I was in the fourth grade." It made a lasting impression on them just as it does today with students who visit us.
You may not realize that every item in our bookstore/gallery is screened for its relevance to the history, culture, and heritage of this site. The Friends help pay transportation costs for Title I schools that come from all over Washington and Oregon.
